Wild rice from Canada
The seeds of the wild rice are harvested as grain. Wild rice is not a rice strain, unlike what most people think.
Canadian wild rice grows naturally in the pure, clean lakes and streams in the province of Saskatchewan, where the ripe grains be harvested with a propeller boat. Because not all ripen at the same time, the grains in servants remains a part behind that later falls into the water and if seed serves for the plants of the following year.
The wild rice grains has a shiny black brown grains with a delicate, nutty taste and an almost unlimited shelf life. Characteristic is the size of the grains: they are usually up to 2 cm long, and the cooking time of Canadian wild rice is 50 minutes.
